VERSA Studios Participates in House of Commons Launch of West London Screens Report

VERSA Studios joined industry leaders, policymakers and stakeholders at the House of Commons for the launch of West London Screens: The Hidden Engine of the UK’s Screen Industries.

The event brought together Dr Rupa Huq MP, Professor Emily Caston, Adrian Wootton OBE, Chief Executive of Film London, Jack Abbott MP and Dan Tomlinson MP to discuss the importance of West London’s screen sector and its contribution to the wider UK creative economy.

The report highlights West London’s position as one of the world’s leading screen industry ecosystems, supporting production, innovation, investment and thousands of highly skilled jobs across the UK.

Representing VERSA Studios, Co-Founder Charlie Ingall spoke about the continued growth and international success of the UK’s unscripted television sector and the opportunity to further strengthen its global competitiveness through the introduction of an Unscripted Tax Credit.

The UK has established a world-leading reputation for creating and exporting entertainment, factual and unscripted formats. These productions support extensive supply chains across studios, production companies, post-production facilities, technical services and freelance talent networks. As international competition for production continues to intensify, there is a significant opportunity to ensure policy and industry support mechanisms evolve alongside the sector’s continued growth.

VERSA Studios was proud to serve as a Lead Launch Partner for the report alongside the University of West London and to contribute to a discussion focused on the future growth, competitiveness and long-term success of the UK’s screen industries.

We would like to thank Andrew Dakers, West London Business and everyone involved in delivering such an important and timely event.

Further insights and key discussion points from the event will be shared in the coming weeks.
