A Studio-Powered Platform for Developing the Next Generation of Entertainment Formats

From Concept to Commission

VERSA Lab is designed to help entertainment formats move from concept to commission more efficiently.

Working with independent producers, creators and rights holders, VERSA provides access to studio facilities, production infrastructure, virtual production technology and industry expertise to develop ideas into proof-of-concept productions, pilot-stage formats and commission-ready intellectual property.

Unlike traditional development models, projects are created and tested within live production environments using real studio workflows, enabling faster iteration, earlier validation and clearer pathways to broadcaster and platform engagement.

The model builds on VERSA’s existing role supporting major entertainment productions across its national studio network.

How it works

Pilot & Proof of Concept

Selected formats are developed using VERSA’s studios, technical infrastructure, virtual production capabilities and production services.

Testing & Refinement

Concepts are refined through rapid iteration, production testing, technical validation and audience evaluation where appropriate.

Market & Commission

Projects are positioned for broadcasters, streamers and platform partners with the aim of securing commission and long-term returnable value.

SUBMIT YOUR PROJECT

VERSA Lab is actively seeking original unscripted entertainment formats for development.

Selected projects may be developed into fully funded pilots within the VERSA ecosystem, with the objective of creating commission-ready, returnable formats for UK and international markets.

We are particularly interested in:

• Studio-based entertainment formats
• Reality and competition formats
• Quiz and game shows
• Factual entertainment
• Concepts with strong returnable series potential
• Projects with clear audience and commercial appeal

Before submitting any materials, all applicants must sign the VERSA Lab Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement (MNDA).

The agreement helps protect confidential information shared by both parties throughout the evaluation process.

What happens next?

1. Sign the Mutual NDA

2. Submit your project

3. Initial review by the VERSA Lab team

4. Discovery call (for selected submissions)

5. Internal evaluation

6. Further development discussions (where applicable)

7. Formal development and commercial agreements for selected projects

Please note:

• Signing the MNDA does not guarantee selection for development.
• Submission does not create a partnership or commercial relationship.
• VERSA may already be developing, evaluating or discussing similar concepts.
• Any commercial relationship will be subject to separate written agreements.

VERSA Lab receives numerous submissions and may already be developing, evaluating or discussing concepts, formats, productions or projects that are similar to those submitted.

Selected submissions may be invited to an initial discovery call with the VERSA Lab team. Following evaluation, projects may progress into further development discussions. Any development, funding, production or commercial relationship will be subject to separate written agreements.
